You've got questions, I've got answers...

Q: How much does Birth Photography Cost?

A: Birth Photography session fee starts at $1100

Q: Where are you located?

A: Lake Oswego, Oregon   *By appointment only

Q: Will you take picture of everything? I don’t want anyone taking pictures of that!

A: My job is to photograph the emotion and the excitement of the day, not that part of the birth. We will discuss the details and the “do not photograph” list before the birth.

Q: Will my photos be private or will you post them online?

A: Your privacy is extremely important. No images will be posted online or used without your permission. You are in complete control as to which images are displayed.

Q: Can we meet before booking?

A: Yes! Before booking I like to get together to discuss questions, details, and requests that you may have about your story.

Q: How far do you travel?

A: I am only able to attend births within a 40 mile radius of Portland Oregon. Please inquire for more detailed info.

Q: Do you need to get approval from the hospital staff or Midwives?

A: The staff in every area hospital and most midwives have always been accommodating,  but yes, it is your responsibility to let your doctor or midwife know you’re having a birth photographer.

Q: When I go into labor, when should I call you?

A: It is best to contact me at the first signs of labor. I need to know when you have your first few contractions so I can plan accordingly.

Q: What if  labor starts in the middle of the night?

A: Being on call 24/7 means I will have my phone next to me no matter the  time or date. When you feel the first signs of labor please don’t hesitate to call or text at any time during the day or night. You’re not bothering me. I promise!

Q: When do you arrive at the hospital?

A: I will arrive when you’re in active labor or around 6 or 7 call me. Births are completely unpredictable, so if you feel like I might need to get there sooner then let me know.

Q: How long are you at each birth?  How long do you stay after?

A: I do not have a time limit while you’re in labor. I will stay as long as it takes.  After the baby is born I will stay 1.5-2 hours.

Q: How soon do I get my pictures?

A: With your permission, I will post a few images of within a few days of the birth. Your birth story will be ready to view at the big reveal 4-6 weeks after your baby is born.

Q: What if you miss the birth?

A: Due to the nature of birth, this is a possibility. If the birth is missed entirely, a Fresh 48 Session will take place while you are still in the hospital.

Q: When should I book?

A: Only 4 births are booked per month and the calendar does fill up months in advance. It is best to book as soon as you decide to have your birth documented.

Q: Do you offer discounts?

A: Yes! I offer discounts for sessions that are booked together. Please contact me for details.

Q: Do you offer payment plans?

A: Yes! Please contact me for more details. 503-875-0461 or email mashagphotog@gmail.com
